Class of 1760

The honorary "Class of 1760" was created by the Germantown Academy Alumni Society Board to recognize non-alumni for their outstanding contributions to the Academy and was named in commemoration of the Academy’s first graduating class.

In November 1951, the inaugural class of honorary alumni were inducted and included those community members who "have devoted their interests... and contributed time and service to the welfare of the school."

Each year, the Alumni Society Board considers nominations for election into the Class of 1760. Please take a moment to nominate a non-alumni parent, past parent, grandparent, faculty/staff or friend in our community who should be considered for this special honor.

Nominees are not to be judged by the number of letters of recommendation, but by their merit and outstanding service to the Academy. The recommendations must be submitted in writing via the Nomination Form linked below.

Candidates with appropriate qualifications include these constituents:

Faculty, Staff or Coach: Those individuals who work over-and-above expectations to consistently and effectively improve the quality of life at the Academy whether by inspiring students to develop intellectual curiosity and to become leaders, or by contributing, often behind the scenes, to the internal functioning of the Academy.

Parent/Parent of Alumni or Grandparent: Those individuals who give themselves to help make Germantown Academy a better institution. Parents and Parents of Alumni selected demonstrate years of involvement and selfless dedication to advancing GA’s Mission in both word and deed.

Friends: Other individuals whose efforts greatly influence the direction, policies, and growth of the Academy, in some instances visible only after a long period of time due to the nature of the contributions.
