Fall has seen a blending of traditional and modern in the GA arts world as our 250th year kicks off. Ranging from photography, to sculpture, to performances, this year the entire GA community is coming together to celebrate our monumental anniversary. Visual and performance art is being produced from current students, faculty, and alumni.
Historical Photo Essay
The first show was the inspiring Historical Photo Essay. Upper School Art Department Chair Gabrielle Russomagno and Germantown Academy archivist and faculty emeritus Edwin Probert 1760 collaborated to create literal snapshots in time. Together, they produced a montage of historically significant photos that were displayed in the Arts Center Gallery. It provided a chance for families to step back in time and feel what it was like as much as 100 years ago.
If you didn’t get a chance to get to the Arts Center, you w ill be able to view the photos throughout the school all year long.
Alumni Art Show

Curated by Upper School Art Department Chair Gabrielle Russomagno and Lower School Art Coordinator Jessica Grisafi, this juried show of alumni art was in the Arts Center Gallery through November 25.
GA Celebrates!
What do you get when you mix together three orchestras, three choirs, many years of Singing Patriot alumni, one conductor (Michael Kemp) whose creativity matches his passion for music, and beloved faculty member Edwin Probert 1760 with entertaining and enticing stories of GA’s heritage? A spectacular celebration of the 250 years of growth that helped Germantown Academy become what it is today! Nostalgic in scope, this day of stories told through music and multimedia was one for the ages – all ages, that is. Two performances featured adult and youth choirs and orchestras, historical photos and vignettes that weave history with legend.
