Model United Nations

Model UN club members participate in simulations of organizations including the World Court, the United States Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the United Nations General Assembly, and the United Nations Security Council. Participants learn about international affairs and develop skills in public speaking, conflict resolution, research and writing. Model UN simulations bring together students from schools located throughout the Philadelphia region. During spring break, club members may attend the National High School Model United Nations at UN Headquarters in New York.

David Hillinck and Bob Moyer, Advisors
(major, half, club)

Club members meet on Tuesday afternoons at 3:00 PM in Mr. Hillinck's room. During the first fifteen minutes, all members (including those with sports or other commitments) must attend for important announcements.  The balance of these afternoon meetings is devoted to discussion of upcoming simulations. The club also meets at another set time during the week to do research, conduct practice speech sessions, etc.
