The safety of our students is our primary concern. Never identify photographs of students by name; make certain that no one can clearly associate a name and a face in single and group photographs.

Only use first name, last initial and graduation year for all students in Lower and Middle School. Last names should only be listed for Upper School students and adults.

Do not use photographs of members of the GA community on the home page without asking for permission. When taking photographs for the website, identify yourself; clearly state your intentions, and request permission to take the picture. This applies to pictures you plan to scan as well as images taken with a digital camera.

Student work and photographs may be used on the website as part of the signed registration contract, unless specifically prohibited by the parent.

Material written for venues other than the home page should not be reproduced without the permission of the author. For example, students who write for the Academy Monthly or the Academy Edition should have the opportunity to request that their work not be printed on-line if they so choose. Individuals who are the subject of articles may request that the piece not be published online.

The home telephone numbers and addresses of members of the GA community will not be published on the home page, except as part of the online community. The online community sections of the GA website provide a secure environment for GA students, families, graduates, faculty and staff. Propietary and personal information is password portected and visible only to registered users. Information entered into these databases will not be shared with, or sold to, third parties.

The personal e-mail addresses of GA students will not be listed on the home page.E-mail addresses of parents and alumni/ae will be listed in the online community directories in order to protect the privacy of our users.

There will be no links from GAnet to students’ personal home pages.
